The Children of Harold and Agnes Hammersland
Ada Henrietta was born on August 12, 1921. She attended the elementary school in Ossian. She was graduated from West Union High School after which she took a year of business courses at Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa. She secured a job and worked as a stenographer for four years. Since September 1944, she has been working as a Parish Worker with Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterloo, Iowa (as of this writing).
Harold Hanford was born on January 8, 1923. He received his elementary schooling in Dover Township, rural school. He attended the School of Aeronautics in Kansas City, Missouri in 1942. He obtained a job at the Washington Airport in Washington, D.C. He worked there for almost two years. On May 30, 1944 he joined the Army Air Corps in which he now serves as a corporal.
Clarice Mildred was born on June 24, 1925. She attended the rural school in Dover Township and has been graduated from West Union High School. She is now a sophomore at Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa. She is taking up elementary education and plans to teach next September (1945).
Alice Olga was born on December 2, 1926. She attended the rural schools in Dover Township and was graduated from West Union High School in May 1944. She is at present a freshman at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. Her major is mathematics and physics and her plan is to teach.
Sylvia Harriet was born on June 20,1928. She attended the rural schools of Dover Township and is now a junior in the West Union High School.
Norma Lillian was born on October 19, 1931. She is now an eighth grader in the elementary school in Dover Township.
Agnes Marie was born on August 31, 1939. She is in kindergarten at the Dover Township rural schools.
